Mother’s Day at JW Cafe, JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar
As the month celebrating mother’s has come to an end, it is high time we talk about our mother’s and the special day.
A special celebration in our house, Mother’s Day is always celebrated with a lot of fervour and as per this new tradition that we have formed, we always celebrate at our favourite JW Café in the new JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar.
From introducing maa to Vegetarian Sushi there last year, to the brilliant mango festival this year, JW Café, in the true sense does go out of the way to make every occasion special, and this Mother’s Day was no less.
A combination of Mother’s Day and the Mango festival, the brunch this year added a brilliant tinge of yellow to the celebrations. With mango crates in every nook and corner and an extremely large variety of mango based dishes. Also, special mentions go to the brilliant dessert table set ups that they are known to do, and this one truly overshadowed all the previous ones they have ever done!
The Food:
And again a very large variety of cuisines and live food counters, ranging from Indian appetisers and mains to an Italian counter to a Thai counter to a tawa sabji counter to a frankie counter to a chaat counter to a Japanese counter and what not.
Chef Rungtiwa Sorlae does a brilliant job with the Thai counter and even though I do not consume eggs, I do know for a fact that she makes the best omelette in the entire city.
The Chaat Counter is a staple at the Sunday Brunches at JW Sahar and this definitely is one of the few places in Mumbai where I do enjoy eating Pani Puri!
If you are lucky enough, Chef Roberto Zorzorli would be around and he does make the best pasta and tiramisu you would have ever had.
What we had:
The Potato Frankie and the paneer frankie were yum, but I personally loved the potato stuffing; Punjabi style and reminded me of auntyji’s aloo ki sabji. Enjoyed it so much that I ended up ordering some plain sabji to enjoy with my dal chawal.
Chaat, the pani puri and sev puri that we get here are so so good that you simply cannot stop eating them. We also ended up enjoying some dabeli, ragda pattice and samosa chaat too.
An while mum enjoyed her margareta pizza and dosa with a vegetable stew, I simply gorged on dal and chawal. The chefs at JW Café have mastered the dal makhani and how, all I end up eating every single time at the buffet is dal makhani and sade chawal. That dal chawal I tell you, undoubtedly is the most soulful and satisfying meal I can ever have.
The desserts followed. I personally decided to ditch the waffles and opt for a nutella crepe this time round and did not regret doing so one bit. Soft and delicious, this had to be the most perfect way for me to end my meal!
With various mother and child activities, JW Sahar once again made it a truly memorable Mother’s Day for us and we cannot wait to go back to celebrate another very happy occasion!
