The Boston Butt Experience (again!!), Kala Ghoda, Mumbai
After my wonderful experience at The Boston Butt a few months ago, this time around, I insisted mum comes along to experience the meal that I had enjoyed so much!
So here we were on a relaxed Thursday afternoon, hoping to enjoy a fun meal that I was sure mom would remember for a long time.
I have been to The Boston Butt before and have enjoyed their extravagant and deeply satisfying Sunday Brunch and that meal gave me food memories that will definitely last a lifetime, from those fantastic nachos that reminded me of the ones I had in New York City to that tender coconut guacamole that had me questioning at first and then had me visiting it often just for it and that ice cream which will stay in memory forever, there is so much that this place gave me and I just waited to know what more can it give me!
What maa and I had:
Bloom Bread: A repeat from what I had last time, what makes this special and different from what the others make is the fact that they used yellow cheddar, and that they added spring onion leaves and roasted garlic to help cut the cheese! Gooey, luscious and delicious would be the perfect descriptions for this dish!
Tikka Tacos: Something from their new menu, this was a gamble for us when we ordered it and definitely worth it, soft taco shell lined with a fresh spinach leaf topped with a generous dollop of beetroot hummus and then with a large chunk of paneer tikka which was followed by fresh salad, this was truly unique, one of a kind and extremely delicious! The flavours played a surprisingly fabulous melody that will be remembered for a very long time! More than anything else, it was that taco-spinach leaf-beetroot hummus combination that surprised me the most!
Creamy Garlic Butter Tuscan Spaghetti: Another dish from their new menu, this was cheesy, luscious and so good; the garlic wasn’t overwhelming and the baguette slice on the side had to the best I have had in recent times! Truly a dish filled with old world love and warmth and so so good!
Cheesy Cottage Cheese Burger: This sounded super delish and with a lot of friends posting this on instagram, this was a must have for us. What came was a deep fried paneer steak that was lined with some melted cheese to top it off with and the peppery flavour of the rocket was just what was needed to help cut the cheesiness out, and you know what; these came with a side of the best French fries I have ever had in the city of Mumbai and no, am not joking! They were so good that they reminded me of the ones that I had at Hummus Place in New York and that place has raised the bar in eating out or calling in so high for me that it is unbelieveable!
Glitter Beer: Who does not love a jug of beer and what would happen if the one that came to your table was a swirl of pearl-shiny gold that now only leaves you mesmerised, but makes also makes you wanna take out your phones and boomerang or slow motion that gorgeous swirl, well that is exactly what comes to your table!
Cocorita: Something that I was very, very doubtful of, but was very keen to know how the entire combination of coconut cream with blue curaçao and pineapple would actually work; and let me tell you, if we reduce the pineapple a wee little lesser, this would be fabulous!
Sizzling Skillet Cinnabons: What would be the perfect end to a meal other than freshly baked Cinnabons on a skillet, right of the oven; accompanied by some toffee-caramel-apple ice cream; on a bed of some delicious white chocolate drizzle, if this does not put you in dessert coma, I really don’t know what will; because this was just the perfect dough with cinnamon that wasn’t overpowering, and the steam coming out when you pull apart that bun is just what one needs to experience the love of food, as pure and honest as it can get!
