Pi Bar and Kitchen, Andheri West, Mumbai
A couple of years ago, we got introduced to the gorgeous Pi Pizzeria and ever since, it became our favourite pizza place in the suburbs and when they opened another restaurant in the suburbs (which happened a while ago), I have been waiting for an occasion to visit it since then.
Luckily, we were a week away from my birthday and we had some time between two work meetings it sounded like the perfect way to begin the celebrations and catch up with a few friends, and here we were.
What we had:
Pacific Blue (INR 245++): Well, I am kind of a fan of blue curacao but what actually made me want to really try this out was the fact that the combination was very different and unlike anything that I have ever had. This was a combination of lychee and fresh lime juice and lemonade and blue curacao. As good as this sounded, the blue curacao, the fresh lime and the lemonade overpowered the lychee and did not live up to its expectations!
Dough Balls with Garlic Butter (INR 200++): Soft, fresh and melt in the mouth, there definitely is something about these that take you on a trip to food heaven and back. If you are a little adventurous, ask for a little bit of pesto on the side (charged extra), slice through the dough ball, apply some butter, actualy generous amounts of butter, you can never have enough of butter, can you? And then, add some pesto to it! The warmth of the dough balls, the butter that melts with it and the pesto that adds more love to it, this truly had to be the most delicious!
Potato Wedges (INR 145++): What is a life without potatoes? And because #AlooIsAlwaysBAE , we had to order a side of them! Unlike most places, these were made fresh from the scratch and were a delight to eat. They come with a mayo dip which goes perfectly with it!
Harissa Cottage Cheese (INR 395++): Hands down the dish of the afternoon for us; the paneer was soft, melt in the mouth, well marinated and delicious beyond imagination. It came with a side dip which honestly was not needed because the dish itself was so good. I definitely could kill for that marinade and the only regret I had was the fact that I had to share it with my friends!
Nettuno (INR 495++): The Nettuno is a pizza that comes with onions, capers and fresh basil. Since am yet to develop a taste for capers, we decided to leave them out. Thin crust, just the right amoint of sauce and not very cheesy at all; this was indeed a delight and got over in a jiffy!!
Asparagus and Sun Dried Tomato Risotto (INR 575++): A good dish, the sun dried tomatoes were very welcome with the asparagus but personally, for my taste buds, this was a little too salty. But given to my overall experience of the meal, one can easily excuse this.
Tiramisu (INR 295++): Find me a better tiramisu in a standalone, non fine dine restaurant and am taking you out for a meal! Definitely amongst my top 3 tiramisu’s in the city (the other two come from star properties), this was rich, creamy and potent and definitely something that you would not want to stop eating.
A wonderful dining experience and we wouldn’t have swapped a meal as happy as this for anything in the world!
Lovely read.. And I’m drooling over Nettuno and Tiramisu. ❤️🤤 Pi Pizzeria absolutely nails their veg and red meat pizzas to perfection; chicken pizzas have further scope for improvement though..
❤️
Thank You Sneha, for your kind words.
