Diwali Hampers from Country of Origin, Mumbai
Diwali: The Festival of Lights, Love and Indulgences!
There is so much about this festival that always invokes a sense of warm nostalgia.
From the family get-togethers to the traditional foods and so much more.
This Diwali turned out to be a little more special for me since I came home to a delicious hamper from Country Of Origin (COO).
What my hamper had:
Almond, Butterscotch and Dark Chocolate Granola: A gluten free version of a healthy and delicious snack, the primary ingredients of this one were Rolled Oats, Demerara Sugar, Pumpkin Seeds, Almond Chunks, Raisin, Sunflower Seeds, Sea Salt, Dark Chocolate Chips and so much more. An open of the seal and you are hit by a delicious aroma of freshly baked goodness, and toasted almonds being my weakness; and that dark is such a welcome burst of goodness in every bite! I can’t stop resist digging into the jar as a write this at 12:45 am currently and maa is going to be furious to wake up to a half empty jar. Also, unlike a lot of packaged granola that we get in the market, this was not sweet at all; neither was this loaded with sugar!
Honestly, I loved this so much, that am ready to give up on my daily upma/toast-butter combination if I am to get this for breakfast every day!
Sigh! Only of you could enjoy the aroma of this jar filled with goodness and health!
COO Espresso Mug: Launched a few years ago, I initially detested this product but over a period of time, this turned out to be my top 5 favourites from the brand. A rich and luscious fondant with the most gooey centre, this one takes you straight back to your childhood with the indulgent coffee that tastes like and reminds you of the times when the only way in which you were allowed to consume coffee was a humble coffee bite!
My family, none of wh0 are coffee drinkers thoroughly relished this too!
Haute Chocolate and Hazelnut Jar: If am not mistaken, it was Country of Origin that introduced dessert jars to Mumbai and they have such a large variety of jars. This one was layered with a belgain chocolate sponge crumb, white chocolate and hazelnut crumb and delicious rich dark chocolate ganache! This one was really good, but I personally feel that nothing can match my love for their red velvet jar!
White Chocolate and Hezelnut Muffun and Soft centred Belgian Chocolate Muffin: Let us mover over the heavy on sugar cupcakes that we normally eat and go back to when a muffin was relished and the importance that was given to a really good batter, because all the flavour was in there!
If you have refridgerated the muffins from Country of Origin, you may want to put them in the microwave for a few seconds and that is when you shall experience magic, in its truest form. The White chocolate chunks would melt a bit and that combination with the hazelnut definitely is killer. In case you find it a bit too sweet for your taste buds (we had three different opinions from the three of us at home; so it is more of an individual choice actually), add a pinch of salt and voila! Its perfect.
The Soft Centre Belgian Dark Chocolate proves, time and again, as to why one should never mess with a good recipe! This truly is the best way to celebrate any occasion.
An Assortment of Brownie: Double Chocolate, Intense chocolate and Roasted Almond chocolate brownies; I have time and again said that the only thing I don’t enjoy on the menu at Country of Origin is their brownie! But this time round, they were scrumptious!
Gooey and chocolatey and all things good! No more complaints for their brownies now!
The hamper also had a granola bar that am yet to try, so can’t talk about it.
Country of Origin, ever since I was introduced to you’ll my outlook towards desserts in general has changed.
Thank You for proving that timeless recipes done right and a simple menu always go a long way!
